At a press conference in Tokyo, CEO Jae-hyuk Bae announced that S&SYS, spun off from Samsung Heavy Industries, has achieved cumulative orders of its ballast water management system Purimar for some 400 vessels. The system treats ballast water through filtration and electrolysis, obtained USCG type approval on June 15, and offers low power consumption, easy retrofit installation and a short five-month delivery time.
