S&SYS, Approval In Principle “Methanol Fueled MR Tanker”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Korea Register(KR) announced Approval In Principle “Methanol Fueled MR Tanker” developed by K-Shipbuilding and S&SYS on 7th JUNE.<\/p>\n

The “Methanol Double Fuel Propulsion MR Tanker” is a ship that uses diesel (MGO) for ships and methanol as dual fuels,<\/p>\n

and is designed to have two eco-friendly methanol tanks placed on both sides of the upper open deck.<\/p>\n

S&SYS designed the fuel supply system, K-Shipbuilding performed the basic design of MR tankers and methanol fuel tank designs.<\/p>\n

Methanol is in a liquid state similar to bunker oil at room temperature, which does not require pressurization,<\/p>\n

and has the advantage of being easier to store and transport than Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), Hydrogen, and Ammonia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
